John Grabarits

Director of Mechanical Sales

John is Columbia Pipe’s Director of Mechanical Sales. He was born and raised in Northampton, Pennsylvania, north of Philadelphia. He attended Colgate University, in Hamilton, New York, where he studied political science and played center and offensive guard for the Raiders’ football program. After graduation, John moved to Pittsburgh, where he worked outside our industry for a few years. In 1988, John commenced a long, stellar career at Victaulic. During his first seven years at Vic, he was a line salesman and industrial specialist. Then, he was promoted to Midwest Regional Manager, headquartered in Chicago, for the next fifteen years. John and Columbia Pipe grew together with Victaulic. In early 2010, John brought his mechanical skills to Columbia Pipe. He is our first Director of Mechanical Sales, a corporate position that enables him to work with virtually all Columbia Pipe locations. John brings not only his mechanical product and sales background to Columbia Pipe but also his relationships with many of the Mechanical Contractors with whom we work in our five-state Midwest region. He has already spearheaded very successful new product launches at Columbia Pipe. John, his wife and three children reside just outside Chicago, in Naperville, Illinois. When John is not working, he enjoys fishing and golf, watching football, and watching his son play baseball for the local high school team.
