Jim Kowynia

Regional Manager — Chicago Metro Industrial

Jim manages Columbia’s business with industrial clients in Illinois, specifically for the Aurora, Chicago, Elgin, Gurnee, Joliet, and Northern Indiana branches. Jim started his career with the Crane Valve Co. in 1968 after completing military service. He came to Columbia Pipe in 1974, where he started in inside sales, moved quickly to outside sales, then took over the engineered products division in 1988. He became Joliet’s branch manager in 1991. In 1996 he took over the Chicago Metro Industrial Segment and has been working extensively with OEMs and MROs ever since. Jim lives in the Southwest suburbs. Both of his sons are employed by Columbia Pipe -- one in Chicago, the other in Joliet. Jim enjoys playing golf on the weekends, and spending time with his young triplet grandchildren.
